The Mayor of Funchal, Miguel Silva Gouveia, accompanied the delivery of the first batch of wooden tables to some of Funchal’s smaller bars and restaurants. The initiative called “Commerce with Security” aims to support small local traders whose establishments do not have an outside terrace and who are located outside the Historic Centre of Funchal and the Hotel Zone.
While talking to reporters, Miguel Silva Gouveia explained that “since the project began last week, two dozen restaurants and bars have contacted them wanting to take advantage of the offer.”
