‘Safe Trade’ Initiative

This month, the Funchal City Council (CMF) will allocate two, 60 x 30 cm half-moon wooden tables that can be fixed outside restaurants and bars located outside the historic Old Town and hotel zone. The initiative is called “Safe Trade” and its objective is to support local traders who do not have a terrace. They believe that by creating ‘space’ the initiative will provide local traders with better means to consolidate their business.

The Municipality advises that all those who qualify for the new tables will have to comply with the rules determined by Resolution No. 510/2020 of the Presidency of the Regional Government. A maximum of two tables will be provided per establishment and these will be delivered by municipality representatives. Traders can choose the best position for the tables, and will receive the help and support of a municipal technician.

For all those who are interested in taking advantage of the new CMF scheme, please submit your request for two,  60 x 30 cm half-moon tables, by completing the form on the official CMF website  https: // bit. ly / 3iqSf2F.  For more information on the scheme, please contact dec.geral@cm-funchal.pt or phone the Investor Desk at 291 211 041.
