Yesterday, the 4th of August, was a ‘difficult’ day for the Official Animal Collection Centre of Santa Cruz, who had to intervene and collect 18 dogs from a private residence in the municipality.
Writing on their social media page, the collection centre said “we collected 18 dogs, I will repeat 18, because it may seem impossible, but it is true that eighteen dogs were collected from a private residence, in spite of having good intentions the owners were keeping the dogs in unacceptable conditions. They went on to say, that the collection was one thing, trying to find places for the animals to stay was another. They are all currently housed at a kennel that was designed for 48 dogs which is now a home for 102.
Given the circumstances, these animals are now up for adoption and looking for homes where they will receive love and a home for life.”
If you can offer a kind loving home to one of the dogs in their care, please contact the kennel on their Facebook page at ‘Patudos de Santa Cruz.’
