Loja do Cidadão da Madeira Service Changes

In a press statement a Loja do Cidadão da Madeira spokesperson announced that several organisations are re-opening their direct access facility thus allowing customers to access their services without having to wait in line.  The services concerned are:- NOS Madeira; Madeira Electricity Company; Funchal City Hall – Water; Education; Housing Investments in Madeira (HMI – Housing); Altice – Meo; Driving licences; Regional Directorate of Labour and Inspection Action; Criminal record; Consumer defense; Passports; Tax Authority – Finance; and Madeira Waters and Waste – ARM.

Customers are advised to check that that they can access their chosen service through a Loja do Cidadão da Madeira representative.

The statement also advised that it is no longer necessary to schedule appointments at the services of the Regional Directorate for the Administration of Justice, in particular Citizen Card related issues, as this service will be open from the 13th of July.  Those who wish to make an appointment can do so through the following means. Email, isabel.abg.camara@lc.madeira.gov.pt or by phone, Civil Identification Office (Citizen Card): 291 212 203, Certificates Office: 291 212 206 and Car Registration Support Office: 291 212 204.

However, appointments must be made in advance if you wish to use the Civil, Building, Commercial and Automobile Registry services. To book and schedule an appointment all the necessary services, contacts, email and telephone numbers are listed at https://www.madeira.gov.pt/Covid19/DecisoesExcecionaisCovid19 , using the Administration of Justice tab.

At present the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) only provides a face-to-face service/assistance by prior appointment.  Please contact them via email gricrp.cc@sef.pt or by phoning 808 202 653 or 808 962 690. Offices working hours are from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 am and 7:30 pm and, on Saturdays, between 8:30 am and 1:30 pm.  However, to maintain social distancing and appropriate safety measures, Loja do Cidadão da Madeira recommends, where possible, that people use digital platforms to schedule appointments and make enqueries.

Please be aware that current guidelines remain in force. 

Entry to the building will remain controlled to ensure that the number of people inside complies with health and safety requirements.

Users who queue outside the Loja do Cidadão da Madeira space must respect the two-metre spacing rules and any guidelines given by the support teams.

Priority appointments and other appointments will be safeguarded. Those with an appointment should make themselves known to the ‘service officer’ at the main entrance. Wearing a mask is mandatory at all times for both employees and customers and hand sanitisers are available at the entrance of the building. Please respect others in relation to personal hygiene and coughing and comply with social distancing markers.

Anyone failing to comply with the rules and regulations will be refused entry into the building.
