The Funchal City Council is developing a new initiative called ‘Stock Off Funchal,’ which aims to boost sales and help local business owners.
Funchal City Council President, Miguel Silva Gouveia, says that “the idea came into fruition after seeing the success of other municipality initiatives which have been created to help local businesses affected by the pandemic. ‘Stock Off Funchal,’ uses Facebook to create a digital platform where companies can publicise their businesses, take part in promotions, sell their products and use the platform as a way to revitalise their companies and boost consumer interest.”
Furthermore, this free initiative aims to boost local commerce as well as invigorating the city centre, create more confidence in the populous about shopping and visiting Funchal, which in turn will boost the city’s economy and sustainability.”
Stock Off Funchal takes place between the 15th of July and the 31st of August, and all participants must comply with the rules and regulations of the initiative.
