The Regional Government has decided to double the financial support given to self-employed workers across the region.
According to the President, Miguel Albuquerque, a self-employed worker who receives 438 euros of support will now be awarded 880 euros per month. Although no start date has been confirmed, this scheme will run until December 2020.
Laid-off workers will also be compensated, through the Madeira Employment Institute, covering salaries for July and August, which will be processed up until the 8th of the following month. This new measure applies to those who over a period of two months receive a minimum wage amounting to 1,301.76 euros.
