An employee of a well-known restaurant located the Old Town of Funchal barricaded himself inside today as a result of his employers’s continuous failure to pay him. A situation that has been ongoing since March this year.
Desperate, and under immense pressure due to financial problems as a result of the situation, the employee locked himself inside, threatening to kill himself, as his employer had yet again defaulted on a newly agreed payment plan.
The Public Security Police (PSP) attended the scene and duly managed the situation.
