The UBER transport platform will stop operating in the Autonomous Region of Madeira as of Thursday, the 6th of May, due to the Regional Government limiting the number of TVDE vehicles allowed to operate in the region to 40.
Following the announcement of the suspension of UBER's activity in Madeira, a petition has been created to review and amend the Proposed Regional Legislative Decree ‘Adaptation to the Autonomous Region of Madeira Law No. 45/2018,’ dated the 10th of August, which establishes the legal regime for the activity of individual and remunerated passenger transport vehicles that are not listed on an electronic platform.
