After carrying out yet another survey on Calhau da Lapa to reanalyse the eastern rock face, the Ribeira Brava City Council, yet again, have stated that the area is unstable and dangerous, and therefore closed to bathers for the foreseeable future.

After carrying out a new inspection of Calhau da Lapa to re-analyse the stability of the eastern slope and determine the state of the escarpment, the Ribeira Brava City Council has decided to close, for an indefinite period, the entire area of Calhau da Lapa, after a massive fractured and decompressed area was recently identified.
Today the Ribeira Brava City Council announced that all bathing at Calhau da Lapa, located in Campanário, is prohibited due to the instability of the east cliff face.
