As of Monday, the 1st of May, the price of a litre of 95 petrol will drop four cents to 1.606 euros per litre.
Fuel prices are expected to fall on Monday, the 4th of July. However, petrol will still remain over 2 euros a litre.
As of 00:00 Monday the 6th of June, petrol prices are set to increase again.
Fuel prices in the Region will not change this week. Therefore, as of tomorrow, the price of 95-octane unleaded gasoline will remain at 1.858 euros per litre, while diesel remains steady at 1.755 euros and 1.294 euros for coloured diesel.
According to information released today by the Regional Secretary of Economy and Finance, the price of fuel will rise again from midnight on Sunday.
During a signing protocol with NOS this morning, the President of Madeira, confirmed that he will follow the national guidelines and reduce fuel VAT by 12%.
Despite Rui Barreto's assurances that fuel prices per litre in Madeira are at least 24 cents cheaper than the mainland, petrol is set to rise by 7 cents per litre as of midnight tonight.
As part of Ordinance 675/2021, which was published today in the Official Journal, fuel prices per litre are set to drop by 4 cents for petrol and 2 cents for diesel this week.
As of midnight on Friday the curfew will be extended until midnight, allowing restaurants to remain open until 11 pm. Which is good news for the sector, especially as tourists are beginning to return to Madeira.
