This morning, the Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, Pedro Ramos, announced that Madeira will accept visitors who have been vaccinated with the SinoPharm or Sinovac (China), Covaxin (India), Epivaccorona (Russia) or the Sovereign (Cuba), in addition, to the four vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency; BioTech Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen.

According to an official source from the Director General for Health (DGS), and recommendations from the European Medicines Agency, all Portuguese residents living abroad who wish to enter Portugal can only enter the country providing they present presenting proof of vaccination against Covid-19 with one of the four vaccines approved by the European Commission -BioNTech-Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen, or by presenting a negative PCR test or proof of recovery.
The Moderna biotechnology company today announced that provisional data from their latest trials indicate that their Covid-19 vaccine is 94.5% effective in reducing the risk of contracting the disease.
