Housing Co-operative in São Pedro

Whilst attending the Day of the Parish of São Pedro, which comprised of the celebration of mass in the Convent of Santa Clara, later on followed by a solemn session taking place in the Universe of Memories of João Carlos Abreu, the President of Funchal City Council, Pedro Calado, noted that the parish was 'rather aged,' as over 25% of the population is over 65 years-old, with only 20% aged under twenty-four.

Cruz de Malta Humanitarian Association Visit Madeira

In meetings with both the Mayor of Funchal, Pedro Calado and José Prada, Vice-President of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, a delegation from the Cruz de Malta Humanitarian Association, comprising of Lieutenant Colonel João Alvelos, chairman of the board and Admiral Luís Fragoso, former Chief of Staff, chairman of the General Assembly, discussed the possibility of collaborating with the Municipality of Funchal to create a work space for the organisation so that it can continue to develop its activities.

Market Night – Still Under Discussion

Funchal City Council (CMF), has announced that although it will do everything possible to ensure that the Christmas Market Night goes ahead, they confirmed that with the number of daily Covid-19 cases, both the Mayor of Funchal, Pedro Calado and the Regional Secretary for Health, Pedro Ramos are to meet to discuss and decide whether or not the event will take place this year.

We Need More Volunteers

While attending the Feira das Vontades, in Largo da Restauração and Placa Central, an event that aims to celebrate International Volunteer Day and publicise the work of Social Solidarity Institutions, the Government and local authorities, the Mayor of Funchal, Pedro Calado, issued an appeal asking everyone to volunteer as a way of helping the regions associations and supporting local communities.
