The autopsy of Maminhas, the female Monk Seal who was found dead on the Desertas Islands has revealed that she died of natural causes.
The autopsy of the dead Monk Seal was performed at the Museu da Baleia, Caniçal this afternoon.
A dead female fur seal, found on the Desertas Grande has been transported back to Madeira. As the reason for its death is unknown, an autopsy will be carried out by the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN).
