Port Strikes Suspended

The Union of Captains, Pilot Officers, Commissioners and Engineers of the Merchant Navy – OFICIAISMAR has informed the Regional Governments of Madeira and the Azores, of their decision to suspend the industrial action planned for the ports in the two archipelagos today and tomorrow and that of the 6th and 7th of December. 

We Need To Guarantee Supplies To The Island

With a week of strikes approaching - the Union of Captains, Pilot Officers, Commissioners and Engineers of the Merchant Navy, scheduled for the 29th and 30th of November, and the 6th and 7th of  December, the Regional Secretary of Economy, Rui Barreto, again warns of the need of the Ministries of Infrastructure and Housing, and that of Labour, Solidarity, and Social Security, to ensure that supplies reach the autonomous regions despite the disruption to services.

15 Madeiran Charities Supported by Continente Mission

This Christmas, Mission Continente will support 15 Madeiran institutions. One for each Continente, Continente Modelo, and Continente Good Morning operating in the archipelago, as part of their fight against hunger. The support will be made through their campaign ‘Gifts to the Table’ which will assist a total of 328 institutions…
