According to witnesses at the scene where the body of a 40 – 50-year-old man was recovered from the sea near the Porto Novo pier in Santa Cruz, the man must have stopped his car, stripped off his clothes and plunged into the sea close to the pier.
Minutes later his body was seen drifting on the tide and the authorities were alerted.
As yet, no further details have been released.
