According to ANA – Madeira Airports, strong winds are affecting the operationality of the island’s International Airport, with flights being diverted or cancelled.
Later this afternoon, the official ANA – Madeira Airports website reported that as of 17:15, the last plane to land on the island had arrived at 13:48, and the final departure was scheduled for 15:00.
Four planes were diverted to Porto Santo, where they are waiting for better weather conditions.
This situation affects the corresponding departures and many hundreds of passengers.
