Russian Businessman Hides Millions in Madeira

A Russian businessman, Ruslan Borisovich Rostovtsev, is using Madeira to “hide millions of euros”.

According to ‘SIC Investigation,’ there is a company registered in the Madeira Free Trade Zone – Boslova – which moves millions of euros every year, but is headquartered “in a modest second-floor office at 15 Rua das Murças”.

The company currently has three managers and a Swiss lawyer. However, the television channel claims to have discovered that the person behind the names is the real owner of Boslova: Ruslan Borisovich Rostovtsev.

Documents prove that the businessman bought for five thousand euros the shares of Boslova, which belonged to two companies based in the British Virgin Islands and the Seychelles.

The investigation found that millions of euros pass through the company’s accounts; however, the report for last year has not yet been presented, even though the deadline for delivery has passed.

However, the 2023 document shows that the assets managed by the company exceeded 255 million euros. Furthermore, since 2021, the statutory auditor has placed “alerts and reservations,” without specifying them.

Rostovtsev was the director of the Moscow city department and deputy mayor of Sochi. He was, at that time, a successful businessman.

Eight years ago, Forbes magazine referenced Rostovtsev in an article about the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
