According to the Horários do Funchal website, they are extending the use of their pre-paid bus pass (Giro).
The charging period for pre-purchased journeys on the HF urban network has been extended, allowing customers to continue using the old Horários do Funchal (HF) Passes and Tickets under the following conditions:
• Last day to upload journeys: extended until 28/02/2026 at the latest, and may cease on an earlier date coinciding with the entry into force of the sale of pre-purchased journeys from the SIGA network;
• Last day of use of the trips: 28/02/2026.
HF pre-purchased ride top-ups are only available at Payshop agents. Please note that it is not possible to top up at the HF service desks or at the HF Automatic Machines.
Old HF GIRO Ticket and Old GIRO Pass with HF chip, with pre-purchased trips:
• Trips loaded no later than 28/02/2026, can be used until 28/02/2026;
• Trips not used until this date will not be transferred to the new system nor will they be refunded;
• These trips are valid exclusively on the urban network of Horários do Funchal (HF), in the old validator.
Please Note:
• There will be no refund of amounts in any situation. Pre-purchased trips must be used by 28/2/2026.
