The Musical Advent, an initiative of the Directorate of Artistic Education Services (DSEA), started on the 1st of December and continues until the 24th.
From December 1st to the 24th, at 9 am, a video will be published on DRE’s social networks – Facebook (@DREMadeira), Instagram (@dre.madeira), and YouTube (@direcaoregionaldeeducacao7854) – as well as on DSEA’s social networks – Facebook (@dseaeducacaoartistica), Instagram (@dsea.madeira) and YouTube (@educacaoartistica294).
These videos, with musical interpretations performed by students from education and teaching establishments in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, carefully prepared by teachers and students, are inspired by the Christian Advent, the period before Christmas, highlighting values such as joy, fraternity, and peace, as one of the most significant moments for the Madeiran people approaches: the birth of the Child Jesus.
This year’s edition has the participation of 17 education and teaching establishments of the 1st cycle of basic education and 7 of the 2nd and 3rd cycles of basic education, whose recording and editing of the contents were in charge of the Directorate of Artistic Education Services and the Multimedia Division of the Office of the Regional Secretary for Education. Science and Technology.
Throughout this 24-day journey, students and teachers will have the opportunity to share their learning and creativity in the field of Choral Singing, interpreting classic and contemporary themes alluding to the Christmas season. The presentations, which go through a complete process from the selection of the themes to their learning, planning, and recording, will also be broadcast by RTP Madeira and Antena 1 – Madeira, allowing this celebration to reach the entire Madeiran community.
The Musical Advent promises to be, once again, an enriching experience that not only celebrates the artistic talent of Madeiran schools, but also reinforces the spirit of union and sharing typical of this time,” says a note from the Regional Secretariat for Education, Science and Technology.
