This morning, August the 19th, the search for the body of the driver who fell from his car into a ravine between Fonte da Areia and Porto das Salemas in Porto Santo resumed.
The commander of the Madeira Maritime Zone, Rui Teixeira, told reporters that the teams resumed searching at 08:00, but still have not been able to locate the body of a man in his 40s.
Several military means including the NRP Tejo, an Air Force C-295, drones from the Operational Command of Madeira, teams from the National Republican Guard (GNR), a team of drones from the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN), Maritime Police and Volunteer Firefighters of Porto Santo are all taking part in the search operation.
