The representative of the Republic for Madeira, Ireneu Barreto, announced today that he will nominate Miguel Albuquerque (PSD) as president of the Regional Government, considering that the joint solution of PS and JPP “has no chance of succeeding.” He will tomorrow at midday, receive Miguel Albuquerque to be appointed President of the Regional Government.
Regarding the joint solution of PS and JPP, the representative of the Republic indicated that “it has no chance of succeeding in the Legislative Assembly.”
Ireneu Barreto further promised to work on ensuring that the solution now found lasts the legislature or at least the time he has left in office. He also intimated that the new government should take office next week.
