The Volunteer Firefighters of São Vicente and Porto Moniz and the Forest Police have been searching since late this afternoon for a couple of tourists who are lost in the mountains, in São Vicente, states a source from the Regional Civil Protection Service.
According to initial information, the couple became lost on their way back to Serra do Caramujo. Having been alerted to their plight, the mountain search and rescue team from the BVSVPM and members from the Forest Police are undertaking the rescue mission. The couple are uninjured and have been located via GPS.
The rescue is expected to take several hours.
