The man suspected of robbing a CGD bank branch in Câmara de Lobos two weeks ago will remain in jail until his trial.
Charged with aggravated robbery, the undisclosed man has already attended his first hearing, where the judge deemed it necessary for him to apply the maximum pre-trial penalty.
The 42-year-old man, the only suspect and presumed perpetrator of the robbery was detained at home on Wednesday morning by the Judiciary Police. During the arrest, the Judiciary Police seized approximately 208,000 euros and items of clothing allegedly worn during the crime. He also parked his getaway car outside his house.
