The Regional Secretary for Education, Science, and Technology, through the Directorate of Artistic Education Services (DSEA) of the Regional Directorate of Education, in partnership with the Regional Secretariat for Tourism and Culture, is promoting the VII Regional Festival of School Choirs of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, between the 11th and 15th of December, with daily performances at 11:00 and 16:00 on Avenida Arriaga.
This festival is part of the Christmas and New Year’s Eve Festivities, under the responsibility of the Regional Secretary for Tourism and Culture. This year 922 students from 23 education and teaching establishments of the 1st cycle of basic education and one school of basic and secondary education will take part in the celebrations.
In a statement, the Regional Secretary said:
“This initiative aims to show the general public the wealth of vocal talent of Madeira’s students. In this way, over the five days of the festival, the public will be able to watch and enjoy the interpretation of dozens of Christmas songs, by our students exploring different genres and musical styles.”
