A squadron from the Madeira Military Zone, part of the 3rd National Detached Force (3FND/ROU), has been in Romania since May.
Thirty Madeiran military personnel from the Garrison Regiment No. 3, underwent a six-month training programme between October 2022 and April 2023 in order to participate in a multinational training exercise.
More than two hundred military personnel, including members of various Army, Navy, and Air Force units, are part of this mission, which aims to strengthen the presence of military personnel in the Southeast region of the Alliance within the framework of Enhanced Vigilance Activities.
“The Portuguese military has developed a series of demanding multinational training operations, such as the improvement of individual technique, operational training planning procedures to ensure readiness and technical-tactical competence and enhance the interoperability and responsiveness of the different forces present on the ground,” quotes a press statement from the Madeira Military Zone.
