The Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea, alongside the Regional Civil Protection Service, has advised that temperatures in Madeira will be around 30 – 34ºC from Friday the 11th until Sunday the 13th due to a tropical air mass.
Obviously, with elevated air temperatures, the risk of fire is high, especially as gusts of wind are expected to reach 70/80 km/h in mountainous regions, and therefore, the Civil Protection Service asks everyone to be sensible concerning personal and island safety.
