As tradition dictates, on Thursday the 5th of January, at 7:00 pm, in the auditorium of the Civic Centre of Curral das Freiras, cultural groups from across the region will perform traditional centuries-old songs for “Singing the Kings.”
The House of the People of Curral das Freiras is the founding “mother” of this event, and since 1994, has created an evening few can forget, encompassing various lyrical forms of traditional singing, which has been handed down from generation to generation.
This XXVII edition will also include the mega ‘king’ cake, part of which is offered to all those who attend the event. The cake will be cut by 9.30 pm.
This event has the support of the Regional Government of Madeira, with the support of the Municipality of Câmara de Lobos, and the Parish Council of Curral das Freiras. In attendance will be the Secretary of Social Inclusion and Citizenship, Rita Andrade; with the president of the municipality of Câmara de Lobos, Pedro Coelho, and the president of the Local Parish Council, Manuel Salustino.
This is a must see event.
