Covid-19: Asymptomatic Patients Do Not Need to Self Isolate

Anyone who tests positive for Covid-19 in Madeira is no longer obliged to self-isolate from tomorrow, Wednesday the 16th of March, providing they are asymptomatic.

A decision taken in Governing Council on the 10th of March, agreed that those with symptoms should continue to fulfill at least 5 days of isolation, which will vary according to the severity of the disease.

Furthermore, tomorrow is the first day that mask wearing is no longer mandatory in outdoor public spaces.

Lastly, Madeira’s status will change from a ‘state of calamity’ to ‘alert situation.’
