The Regional Exhibition of Limão, which this year celebrates its 20th edition, will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of April, in the parish of Ilha, located in the municipality of Santana. For those who will not be able to travel to the north coast, the event will be also be broadcast live through naminhaterra.com and Facebook.
Event organisers, Casa do Povo da Ilha, are preparing an entertainment programme aimed at all ages and generations, as well as creating an event which will highlight the work of the island’s lemon growers as well as the natural beauty of the north of the island.
As part of the festival programme, a blind tasting of liqueurs and lemon desserts will take place, as will the very popular Festa do Despique.
Registrations for both events are now open.
BLIND TASTING OF LIQUEURS AND LEMON DESSERTS:
People from all over the region can apply. There will be a surprise prize for the best liqueur and best dessert.
The competition will take place on the 2nd of April at 3:00 pm, at Casa do Povo da Ilha.
DESPIQUE PARTY:
The Despique Festival takes place on the 3rd of April, at 2:30 pm, and is one of the main attractions for improvised singing, which is very characteristic of Madeira’s musical tradition.
