The Portuguese Air Force’s Manoeuvre Aerodrome No. 3 (AM3) will hold a charity walk in Porto Santo on Saturday, the 5th of September, in support of the island’s Casa do Voluntário.
The walk will depart from Largo da Câmara Municipal and is open to everyone. Participants are asked to register in advance and bring one non-perishable essential food item, which will be donated to the charity.
The organisers have not published a specific list of requested products. Suitable donations would normally include rice, pasta, flour, sugar, milk, cooking oil, tinned fish, canned vegetables, pulses, biscuits and breakfast cereals. However, participants should avoid presenting this as an official list, as the appeal simply requests an essential food item.
Registration for the walk is available through the online form shared by the Portuguese Air Force. At the time of publication, the starting time and length of the route had not been confirmed in the information released.
The programme will continue on Sunday, the 6th of September, with sporting activities at Ribeiro Cochino beach. Sessions will take place from 10:00–12:00 and again from 15:00–17:00, with activities suitable for all ages and gifts available for participants. The weekend forms part of the Portuguese Air Force’s community programme in Porto Santo and aims to combine physical activity and social interaction with practical support for local families.
The Casa do Voluntário is a recognised private social solidarity institution and, through its Porto Santo programme, provides social assistance to vulnerable residents while supporting children, young people and older members of the community.
