Two tourists were filmed bathing in the nude in the early hours of yesterday morning at the São Tiago Beach, in Funchal. A situation that is generating indignation among residents and those who enjoy an early morning walk in the area.
The episode occurred around one in the morning, at a time when visibility is reduced, and the sea may be strong, significantly increasing the risk of an accident and risk to life. It should be noted that bathers have died in this area before.
The complaint came from a resident, who captured images of the moment. According to him, in addition to reckless behaviour, the individuals were aggressive towards passers-by. These tourists, he said, have “offended every person who has walked by.”
The case once again exposes risky behaviour and ignorance on the part of some visitors. Portugal has strict nudity laws.
