The man suspected of murdering his mother in Água de Pena was transferred, this afternoon, from the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital to the Casa de Saúde São João de Deus, where he will be hospitalised and placed under permanent psychiatric care.
The alleged murderer was transferred yesterday afternoon in a SESARAM ambulance, accompanied by members of the Judiciary Police and the PSP.
According to reports, the man will be kept in isolation and under continuous monitoring at the unit while a psychiatric assessment takes place.
Despite having two leg injuries, resulting from the fall of about six meters, he jumped from the top of his house trying to evade arrest. The suspect is free of danger. Even so, a police source indicates that his mental state is considered substantially altered, which is the main concern of the authorities and the clinical team.

The internment will take place under permanent surveillance until the man meets the conditions to be present before the judge, as part of the ongoing judicial process.
It should be recalled that the suspect was detained on Friday by the Judiciary Police after several days on the run, having been located when he returned to the scene of the crime, in Água de Pena, in the municipality of Machico.
