The body of a young man, found earlier in the day, in the bed of Ribeira de Santo António, in Funchal, was retrieved from the river at 12:30 by a BVM mountain and rescue team. The team was supported by officers from the Public Security and Judiciary Police.
According to newspaper reports, the body was that of a 19-year-old man, who had been missing since yesterday.
