To mark its 176th anniversary, the Banda Municipal do Funchal – Artistas Funchalenses will hold a concert on the 22nd of March at 17:00 in the Ursa Maior room, in Madeira Tecnopolo.
Under the leadership of maestro Élio Jardim, the band will present a programme that covers numerous styles and geographies as an expression of their artistic identity.
“The vibrant energy of Jan de Haan’s New Age Overture flows seamlessly into the timeless charm of Elton John’s Your Song. The lively rhythms of Arturo Márquez’s Danzón No. 2 blend effortlessly with the smooth elegance of bossa nova in The Girls of Jobim, and cross into the pop-rock world of Sting,” explains a spokesperson for the Banda Municipal do Funchal.
