Dust Comes To Madeira

The IPMA predicts that as of tomorrow, the 24th of February, sand from North Africa will affect the region’s air quality.

Ricardo Tavares has confirmed that the southerly wind will blow more strongly at altitude. “On the surface, we will continue with this weak to moderate easterly wind. The sky will remain a yellowish opaque colour until the end of Tuesday afternoon”, adds the expert, adding that the weather will then suddenly turn cold and may be accompanied by light rain.

Temperatures are expected to remain steady for the next couple of days, but heavier rain is anticipated at the end of the month.
