Too Many Parades

The Trapalhão Parade took to the streets today with approximately 300 people taking part.  A lower figure than in previous years.

Before the start of the parade, the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, admitted that the Executive will have to consult with the municipalities on the scheduling of carnival events, to avoid several parades happening on the same day and at the same time.

“Everyone loses,” said the President, stressing the need for better coordination to value each initiative and ensure greater adherence from the public and participants.

He added that Saturday’s allegorical procession was too long, considering that “three hours is too long.” However, because he does not want to limit participation, Miguel Albuquerque said that everything will remain the same for the moment.
