The Madeira Theme Park is hosting its traditional Carnival programme, highlighting Madeiran traditions while creating moments of conviviality and entertainment for families, schools, and visitors.
Between traditional thematic exhibitions, a children’s parade, and gastronomic delights, the initiative reinforces the infrastructure as a space for living culture.
The programme starts today, the 12th of February, with the opening of the ‘Compadres and Comadres da Madeira’ exhibition. The display will feature figures crafted by the company’s employees, placed throughout the venue to showcase characters unique to each municipality and their traditions. As in past years, this exhibition is part of the Festa dos Compadres celebration.
This afternoon at 14:00, children from the schools in the municipality of Santana will join a lively Carnival Parade. The event will feature the delightful offering of traditional malassadas and sweets for the kids to enjoy.
On the 14th of February, the Park celebrates ‘Valentine’s Day with Dreams’, featuring the creation and serving of traditional dreams (Sonos) made in a classic wood-fired kitchen.
On the 17th, Carnival Day will highlight the culinary side of the event. That day, all masked children with a full child ticket will also receive a special merchandising gift.
With this programme, the Madeira Theme Park aims to spark participation and capture the carnival spirit in a family-friendly setting, offering unique experiences for visitors of all ages. Alongside seasonal events, the Park continues to serve as a go-to spot for exploring the Region’s history, traditions, and cultural heritage, all in an open-air, educational space designed to bring families and communities together.
