The President of PSD Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, stated that he hopes to have no opponents in the party’s internal elections, scheduled for next month.
“I hope I don’t have opponents. Anyone can apply, but at the moment, I am in the position of President of the Government, leading most of the chambers and assuming responsibilities. It does not seem appropriate to me that the leader of the largest party is not also the president of the Government,” said Albuquerque, who is also President of the Regional Government.
The regional leader of the PSD underlined his intention to remain at the head of the party, reinforcing the interconnection between the government leadership and the PSD Madeira leadership, at a time when the political formation is preparing to renew its regional bodies.
