The president of the Regional Government reported today via Instagram that hehas sent a communication to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paulo Rangel, and the US Ambassador in Lisbon, asking them to intercede in the release of Madeiran-related political prisoners in Venezuela.
On the occasion, Albuquerque reported the reinforcement of his action towards the release of these political prisoners, stating that the Regional Director of Communities, Sancho Gomes, has received the daughters of one of the Madeirans currently incarcerated in Venezuela. “There is a commitment on my part to do everything possible for his release,” he assured, adding that humanism and democracy will lead to justice.
