The ViaExpresso da Madeira Road Concessionaire informs that on Thursday, the 18th of December, the section between 8.0 (Fajã da Parreira) and 11.0 (Fajã das Contreiras) of Via Expresso 2, in Porto Moniz, will be temporarily closed due to essential cleaning works on the slopes overlooking the road. The work will be undertaken by the rocheiros from the Regional Directorate of Roads.
The operation will take place from 09:30 to 17:00 on Thursday. This will be a staggered closure of periods of one hour, with thirty-minute traffic-easing periods in between.
The ViaExpresso da Madeira Road Concessionaire warns road users that during this period, traffic delays and disruptions are inevitable. All areas will be signposted, and drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible and comply with all road and safety signage.
