The Regional Command of the PSP Madeira (CRM), through the Foreigners and Border Control Nucleus, arrested two male illegal immigrants.
According to a statement from the PSP, several routine operations were carried out during the month of October with the aim of ensuring compliance with the legislation in force regarding the stay of foreign citizens in National Territory.
Thus, in the course of these inspections, 174 foreign citizens were identified.
“As a result of these actions, 13 notifications were made for voluntary abandonment, 13 notices of administrative offence for excessive stay in national territory, and 1 notice of administrative offence for use of the activity of a foreign citizen in an illegal situation.”
In addition, two men were arrested as illegal aliens and, after being presented to the competent Judicial Authority, the case was sent to the Police for Coercive Removal Process (PAC).
“The CRM takes the opportunity to reiterate its commitment within the scope of the new powers of inspection of foreign citizens, in compliance with the law and in the promotion and protection of the rights, freedoms, and guarantees of all citizens living in national territory,” he concludes.
