A new scam is circulating via SMS in Madeira, resembling the already known ‘Hello mom, hello dad’ scam.
This time, several Madeirans have received the following message: “Mom, I dropped my cell phone and it stopped working. I’m using a temporary number. Send me a message on WhatsApp.”
This is followed by a fraudulent link, which should not be opened under any circumstances.
