A cyclist was filmed yesterday riding along the highway between Quinta Grande and Câmara de Lobos, putting his own safety and that of the motorists who circulated on that section at risk.
The video, captured by Richard Mendes and published on social networks, shows the cyclist descending at high speed, side by side with several vehicles. The man was not wearing any appropriate protective equipment and was cycling in sports gear and a baseball cap.
According to the usual procedures, situations of this kind are reported by the VR1 concessionaire to the Public Security Police (PSP), who are responsible for investigating the circumstances and reasons that led the cyclist to use a road exclusively intended for motor vehicles.
