The first edition of Cãominhada (dog walk) da Calheta will take place on the 30th of August. The walk will start at 09:30 at Praceta 24 de Junho and end at Porto de Recreio.
The event aims to promote exercise and companionship between dog owners and their pooches. The organisation says that the route is fairly short to ensure that people and dogs of all ages can enjoy the walk together.
Registration is free, and everyone is asked to bring food and drinks, so that the activity can end with a shared picnic.
Animals must be vaccinated, dewormed, and remain on a lead at all times.
