The President of the Regional Government criticised the existence of apartments purchased in a cooperative for local accommodation (AL)
“It is completely unreasonable,” he said when confronted with complaints of apartments being used for AL in the Cortel Cooperative building.
On the sidelines of the inauguration of Continente de SĂŁo Vicente, Miguel Albuquerque said that it is an “illegal” situation, because cooperative construction uses public money, so it is necessary to respond to housing shortages. “And we have a housing shortage,” he stressed.
“I think the chambers have to make decisions. In Funchal, it was essential to suspend local accommodation in collective housing buildings,” he defended.
