The Judiciary Police detained a 22-year-old man for attempted murder and GBH on the 30th of June in Ribeira Brava, Madeira. The crimes were committed against two people, one of them a police officer, reveals a spokesperson for the Judicial Police.
The crimes were perpetrated in the early hours of the 30th of June during the São Pedro festivities in Ribeira Brava, following a dispute between the aggressor and the two victims.
“The police officer suffered serious injuries after being stabbed in the chest and back. Luckily, surgery saved his life.
The detainee, who has a criminal record, has been presented to the authorities and will remain in prison until a trial date is confirmed.
