Emirates will be holding a series of cabin crew recruitment sessions this summer in some of Europe’s top tourist destinations. Among the dates announced, an open day in Funchal, on the 30th of August, is the only session planned for Portugal. The recruitment day will be held at the Meliã Madeira Mare Resort & Spa.
“With this initiative, the company seeks to strengthen its international team with candidates who share a passion for travel and customer service. The objective is to meet potential candidates in the places where they usually spend their holidays or work, such as the Spanish islands, Greece, and, this year, Madeira.”
In a press statement, David Quito, General Manager of Emirates, Portugal, says that “we have all felt, on vacation, that desire that the holiday would never end. Being a cabin crew member at Emirates is a way to turn that desire into reality: travel the world, gain experience for life, and experience new cultures. Thousands of our professionals have already done so. Our open days have been an excellent way to make this career known, and so it seemed natural to us to meet those who like to travel and see the world, especially if they are already on vacation.”
It should be noted that the company flies to more than 140 destinations in its global network, allowing the crew to “travel to some of the most desirable places in the world, benefiting from industry-leading conditions: tax-free salary, flight subsidy and free accommodation in the vibrant city of Dubai.”
For those interested you need to be at the Meliã Madeira Mare Resort & Spa, in Funchal, at 09:00 on the 30th of August. The dress code is casual, so tourists, hotel professionals, and travel enthusiasts will be able to participate in the Emirates open day, meet the recruitment team, learn more about the role, and start their career process.
“Selected candidates will live in Dubai, a cosmopolitan city known for sunshine, safety, and endless opportunities. They will join a team of 24,500 cabin crew, including hundreds of Portuguese already on board, and will have the opportunity to explore new destinations while working. In addition to furnished and spacious accommodation, the function offers transportation between home and work, world-class training, medical, dental, and life insurance, hotel stays during layovers, very low airfares for yourself, family, and friends, and access to numerous local offers through Emirates’ FACE and Platinum cards.”
Emirates is looking for candidates with at least one year’s experience in hospitality, tourism, or customer service, have a passion for travelling and interacting with people. Skills such as customer service, teamwork and adaptability are highly valued to ensure the excellent service Emerites is renowned for.
