AJEMed- Youth Association of Medicine of Madeira will hold its 9th ‘Hospital dos Pequeninos’ between the 18th and 23rd of August, at the Madeira Press Museum, in Câmara de Lobos.
The initiative, started in 2017, is aimed at children from 3 to 10 years old and aims to “help children overcome their fear of doctors as well as provide a playful and educational approach to the world of health.” A fear of doctors is called Iatrophobia and often occurs in children as they relate seeing a doctor to something painful, such as injections. This fear can be carried into adult life.
The event will feature several interactive stations where the little ones will have the opportunity to explore and learn about the most varied areas of health, in a fun and educational way.
Those interested in participating must complete the online registration form: https://forms.gle/ReaECQHLfmBmehPj7 by the 30th of June.
