The Regional Government of Madeira will maintain the strategic reserve of cereals for the next two years, revealed the Regional Secretary for the Economy, José Manuel Rodrigues, this morning.
During a visit, he said that he had decided to maintain the prevention measure, created in 2022 to combat possible disruptions due to “geopolitical uncertainty and unpredictability.”
The Autonomous Region of Madeira has set aside in its Budget for 2025 around 1 million euros for the cereal reserve, revealed José Manuel Rodrigues, with the caveat that the document will still be considered and voted on in the Legislative Assembly of Madeira.
The measure, he said, represents an investment of 700 thousand euros per year.
