A woman was detained this morning in the Port of Funchal after insulting on-duty Public Security Police (PSP) officers.
The occurrence happened before and while boarding the Lobo Marinho, which was ready to set sail to Porto Santo. As yet, the reason for the outburst has not been ascertained, but witnesses say that the woman started to kick off at police officers who were trying to calm her down.
Given that her actions now constitute a serious crime, police officers removed her from the ship, where she was taken to the Funchal police station and will be presented to the competent authorities. Verbally assaulting a police officer can be punishable by imprisonment.
